Johnny Duong

Johnny Duong graduated from Mission Bay High School in 2002. After high school Johnny helped his father at an independent auto repair shop as a transmission helper removing and reinstalling transmissions. His father was a transmission specialist.

Johnny attended San Diego Miramar College starting in 2003 and graduated from San Diego Miramar College in 2007 with Associate in Science Degree for Automotive Technology. During his college years, he received valuable job training experience from the Smog Check Referee Program. BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) Referees are authorized to inspect vehicles that regular smog stations cannot inspect.

Johnny also attended a vocational training school at C.I.A.T (California Institute of Automotive Technology) for his smog check license. He completed all his smog tech training courses and passed his BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) state exam in 2004 as a Smog Check Repair Inspector. Johnny has worked for various small independent automotive shops and large corporations like Mazda, Subaru and Lexus.

Johnny’s hobbies include Texas hold ’em poker, drifting, paintball, and hiking trails in San Diego. He enjoys going to the gym, spending time with family and working on his 1986 Toyota Corolla GTS.

Michael Duong

Growing up as a child, Michael’s dad had worked and owned businesses as a transmission specialist, so Michael was constantly surrounded by automotive cars.

Michael graduate from Mission Bay High School in 2003 and began his journey in the automotive field for his college years to come. After graduating from San Diego Miramar College in 2008 with an Associate in Science Degree for Automotive Technology, he began his career in the automotive field.

Michael also attended a vocational training school at C.I.A.T (California Institute of Automotive Technology) for his smog check license. He completed all his smog tech training courses and passed his BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) state exam in 2015 as a Smog Check Repair Inspector.

Michael has worked heavily within the general automotive services and has worked with different automotive franchises. Being an automotive enthusiast himself, his commitment to his work shows. Whether it’s interpreting the details of the work, or performing the work itself, he is dedicated to satisfy his customers. He strongly believes in good work ethic which his actions convey.

Michael’s goal is to provide a smog base shop that unifies honesty, pride, efficiency, and most importantly for the community.
